Barana Simmentals 11th Annual Sale achieved a pleasing result with an average of $6,573, top price of $11,500 and 100% clearance.

A large crowd of stud & commercial cattle breeders from five States attended the Sale which saw the average increase by $1588 on last year’s result. The top priced bull Barana Ethan [P], a red November 2009 drop poll bull was purchased by the Whiteman family of Cobar. The Whiteman family took home four bulls to average $8375.

Stud breeders Rob & Viv Laycock of Clay Gully Simmentals, Esk, Queensland & BST Tullatoola Simmental Stud of Molong, NSW each paid second top price of $10,500 for sires Barana Earlwood [P] & Barana Eastlake [P].

Volume buyer Arlington Pastoral of Charleville, Qld secured a draft of six bulls averaging $5666.

Fourteen stud females all cleared to average $1785, topping at $2250 twice. The PTIC commercial heifers sold to $1600 with an average of $1433.
