2007
ANNUAL ON FARM Sale Date - 20th AUGUST

Barana Angelo [Polled] sold for the top price of $18,000
at our 2007 Sale to Noel & Jill Mobbs, Gowrie Pastoral
Co, Charleville, Qld.
Barana Simmentals will conduct their 7th Annual On
Farm Bull Sale on Monday 20th August at 1pm. This
year, Stud Principal, Peter Cook will offer a draft
of 58 bulls, polled & horned and for the first time
10 specially selected heifers in a line up equal to
the best in any breed. The Barana sale will be the
largest offering of purebred Simmental bulls by a
single vendor in Australia and is the premier
Simmental sale in NSW. We have sold in excess of
600 bulls nationwide with many repeat buyers.
Like other producers in the eastern states we have
been feeling the crippling effects of this
relentless drought. Recently we have seen the start
of some good rain & we are hopeful that this will
continue & that a return to normal seasons is just
around the corner. Throughout the drought our
cattle have been fed a mix of straw, molasses,
GrapeMarc and grain, sorghum stubble hay & whatever
other hay we could source. At the present time our
sale bulls are on a green oats crop with
supplementary light ration of grain and hay.
The bulls have been selected for their easy-doing
ability, well muscled, sound structure & early to
mid maturity pattern. On the day you will see these
bulls at their natural best with no foot trimming
being done on any animal presented.
As in past sales, objective data will be available
for each bull & all inspections & guarantees you
have come to expect from Barana will be provided.
All bulls must pass stringent tests for breeding &
soundness with the appropriate Veterinary Soundness
Certificate provided. These bulls will also be
semen tested, Breedplan recorded, scanned for EMA,
FAT & IMF & vaccinated for Vibrio. Barana has
Johnes Status MN2.
Free cartage will be offered within a 300 km radius
of Barana and for interstate buyers, free cartage
along the major route from Coolah to Goondiwindi &
from Coolah to Wodonga. The catalogue will be
available for preview with photos on our website
www.baranasimmentals.com.
Selling Agents are Elders and Davidson & Cameron
with 5% rebate offered to outside agents.
